Cartridge Care

These are a few useful tips for maximizing savings as well as the life of your cartridges.

Injet Cartridge
  • Use your printer at least once a week.
  • Inkjet printers are not designed for heavy-duty print jobs. Running your printer for more than a few dozen pages at one go could cause the print head to burn out and render the cartridge non-refillable.
  • Never wait until the cartridge dries out completely before refilling. Ink flows through the print head to keep it cool. When it stops passing through the numerous tiny nozzles, the print head will burn out and render the cartridge non-refillable.
  • When the cartridge needs refilling, remove it from the printer and place it in a zip-lock plastic bag with a moistened (not wet) paper towel. Make sure the paper towel does not come in contact with the print head or the metal contact.
  • Drop it off at one of the Peacock agent storesand get it back, good as new, within 2 business days.
  • Remove the tape on the print head and run the cleaning program.
Laser Toner
  • When empty, place your laser cartridge in a plastic bag and keep it in a dark area. Better yet, if you still have the packaging, store it in its original plastic bag and cardboard box.
  • Keep your toner from excessive light as some of the parts may be light-sensitive and can be damaged with undue exposure.
  • Slip it back into your printer and enjoy the same remarkable printing quality.
